Recipes for free: Cranberry Chocolate Protein Smoothie

cranberriesAnother week another smoothie recipe. As far as I’m concerned you can never have enough smoothie recipes. This is another cranberry inspired beauty with a chocolate twist. Check out the recipe below. Let me know in the comments: What is your favorite smoothie combination?

 

 

 

 

Cranberry Chocolate Protein Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 tablespoons gluten free rolled oats
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed meal
1/2 serving vanilla protein powder
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup cranberries, frozen
1 banana, frozen and chopped into 6 pieces

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender in the order listed and process until smooth
  2. Transfer to a serving glass with ice. Serve immediately.

 

 

 

Smoothies for free: Baked Apple Pie Smoothie

baked apple pie smoothieThis Baked Apple Pie Smoothie is one of my favorites. I carefully developed the flavor profile to mimic an apple pie fresh from the oven. Seriously follow every step and use every ingredient when recreating this smoothie. It is so worth the effort. Now you too can enjoy a rich decadent apple pie for breakfast or dessert; without all the calories. Get into my last smoothie recipe of the week below.

Baked Apple Pie Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
6 drops pure liquid stevia
2 tablespoons organic raw honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons gluten free rolled oats
1 large baked apple,
½ cup crushed ice
The night before wash a large apple, wrap in foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Allow apple to cool completely before blending.
Add all ingredients into a blender in order listed and process until smooth.
Transfer to a serving glass, serve immediately.

Smoothies for free: French Vanilla Black Tea Smoothie

Raw juices and smoothies play a major role in my daily diet. Over the past year I’ve been honing in my smoothie and juice making skills and figured it was time to share a few old and new smoothie recipes. Every day this week I’ll be posting an A+mazing smoothie recipe culminating in a smoothie roundup post on Saturday. First up is my newly developed French Vanilla Black Tea Smoothie featuring my favorite Bigelow Black Tea. Oh how sweet it is!

French Vanilla Black Tea
2 medjool dates, pitted and diced
2 tablespoons almond milk
1 cup brewed french vanilla black tea, cold
1 tablespoon vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
3 tablespoons gluten free rolled oats
1/4 teaspoon tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon maple syrup
10 drops pure stevia extract
1/2 cup crushed ice

  1. Place two Bigelow French Vanilla tea bags in a container and fill with two cups of filtered water. Refrigerate and  allow to steep overnight or for at least 12 hours.
  2. Add all ingredients into a blender in order listed and process until smooth.
  3. Transfer to a serving glass, serve immediately.

What I ate today: chocolate banana apple smoothie

today was one of those fibro glum slum days. I had a bad case of IBS and therefore my appetite was next to nothing. I was able to keep down a chocolate banana apple smoothie. Yes, you did read right a dash of cacao powder, banana, half of a McIntosh and half a cup of oatmeal all thrown into the Nutribullet and voila….I think I just created my first recipe on this blog..let me add that
