Gluten Free Product Review: BLAKE’S Gluten Free Chicken Pot Pie

I’ve been sitting on this review for quite awhile now so I am happy to finally get it out to you. I purchased Blake’s Gluten Free Chicken Pot Pie on a whim a couple of months ago. It was one of those spur of the moment in need of a quick dinner to get back to work type of nights. The unfamiliar box jumped out at me and upon closer inspection I took mental note of all the “trendy” buzz words: organic, natural, cage free, hormone free …the list goes on and on but would the most important factor “taste” live up to the lofty food labeling?

Well I can honestly say that after popping this baby into the oven and digging into the golden brown cornbread crust I was more than impressed. Tender juicy chunks of real chicken. Steaming fresh veggies and a delightful rue made this the best (try only) pot pie that I have eaten in years. At the end of my meal I was literally licking the empty container as well as my fingers trying to get every last flaky crumb. From that moment I became a fan of Blake’s and cannot wait until they add more gluten free products to their all natural line.

  1. I purchase the chicken pot pie for my sons shoes gluten free. I tasted the pie and the crust was very sweet. I was surprised because this is a savory pie. Also the crust did not cook throughly even though the pie was cooked. I would not recommend the pot pie unless there was as improvement made to the crust.

  2. Blake’s chicken pot pie is a complete rip off. Just a lot of poorly tasting crust with chicken flavored peas and one potato square. For the price this is a scandal, don’t waste your money or time.
