Living with Fibromyalgia|Pain Awareness Month

September is Pain Awareness Month. That’s right, the entire month is dedicated to raising awareness and drawing national attention to the 83 million (and counting) people who like myself, experience debilitating life altering pain on a daily basis.

National Pain Awareness Month was created to increase awareness about the effects of pain so it it can be better understood and managed. As a person living with chronic pain, I know first hand how life changing it can be. Every single month for the entire month of September, I will be sharing a fact, poem, or tidbit about pain. I engage in a variety of treatments to help me manage and cope with my pain. Writing and poetry is one of my releases. It is for this reason that I will be gifting a free copy (on select days) of one of my books dedicated to poetry and living with Fibromyalgia.

All you have to do is Like my Living with Fibromyalgia Facebook page and follow the directions. Pain is invisible but its effects are very real. I write to help myself and others cope and put into words the sometimes unfathomable effects of debilitating pain. You are not alone. We are not alone in our journey and each day you wake up is a day you have chosen to fight back against chronic pain.
